Talking of backs, the rear view shows the replacement back I had to construct - the original back was another thing that was too far gone to be repaired. Just one more task on a list that sometimes seemed endless! When the results are as good as this, though, all the weary hours seem a bit more worthwhile, and I don't suppose I need to point out that the radio isn't just a pretty box: as well as looking a million dollars, everything now works as well as it did back in 1938 when this set was undoubtedly some family's pride and joy.
